I was designing and making bidet prototypes at the height of the Great Toilet Paper Crisis of 2021.
While I was making it specifically for backpackers at the time, my second thought was for preppers. While I don't think I would qualify as an official prepper, let's just say that I could survive for a long time during any apocalypse. And you know what is not in my storage cabinets? Toilet paper. Not. One. Sheet.
I have a bidet in each of my packs. A bidet in each of my cars. A bidet out in the barn. That space for toilet paper could be better used for water and cans of sardines. You can drink the water, you can't eat your toilet paper. Think of it this way: if you took the space of one roll of toilet paper and filled it with water, you would get about 22 uses of the bidet.
"With the recent port strikes and hurricanes, I have seen toilet paper shortages. No problem." M.T.
The woods, the grid going down, a hotel bathroom in a country where the plumbing can't handle paper. The Bug Out Bag Bidet is ready for all of it. Four grams. Zero dependence on a supply chain. One very good decision made in advance.
The garage has a plan. You should too.
